"Mildred Kaye - an adventuresome artist who creates in new media - Hurrah!" ... Flora Whitney Miller Biddle, Former President of the Whitney Museum of American Art.
MILDRED KAYE is an award winning screen printer noted for arresting prints that dramatize and enrich both everyday subjects and classical themes. The pieces are designed to be mood pieces, invoking a wide range from the romantic to fantasy to whimsical humor. Some of the works evoke nostalgia, drawing on childhood memories. Others draw on mythological themes for works, which are fashioned into dreamscapes of classical serenity.
Mildred Kaye is Vice President of the National Association of Women Artists. She has had numerous one person shows, including a one person show in Talli's Gallery, a commercial New York Gallery next to the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Her work is shown primarily in the New York Metropolitan Area, but has visited other states in the Union. Abroad, the work has been represented in Taiwan, India and Brazil, and will soon be shown in Helsinki, Finland.
She is listed in Who's Who in American Art, Art News Annual, Printworld, and the National Museum of Women in the Arts. She has exhibited in such prestigious venues as Sotheby-Park-Benet, The Jacob Javitz Center, the Library of Congress and is included in private and public collections, including PBS, Leonard Bocour, Nabisco Brands World Headquarters, and the Print Consortium.
